The mandate given to the youth groups by the Parish Council are the following: 
- The spiritual formation of the youth in the parish and in the groups
 
- To take part in activities required of them by the parish associations, groups and committees
 
- To provide a link with the youth of the Consolata Shrine and other parishes
 
- To provide parishioners with social activities
 
- To provide a means of modern communications to interact with other youth on matters of religious encouragement
 
 
In addition to this, the groups exist to: 
- Provide the parish youth a means by which they can know, understand and appreciate the Catholic Faith
 
- Strengthen Christian life and missionary formation
 
- Increase the youth’s universal missionary spirit
 
- To  foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person
 
- To draw young people into responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community
 
- To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today
 
 
Structure
The parish has grouped the youth into two groups: 
- Senior Youth: this consists of young members of the parish from the age of 16 to 20
 
 
- Junior Youth: this consists of young members of the parish from the age of 12 to 15
